Bibhu Mohapatra is Appointed Director of Design for J. Mendel ltd.

FIT graduate is appointed Director of Design for J. Mendel Paris, in New York.

September 11, 2004 -- Bibhu Mohapatra
has worked for Gilles Mendel, the head of J. Mendel, for the last five years.

With Mr. Mendel, he has redesigned the fur line and developed a ready to wear couture line for the label.

J. Mendel is a hot property because of the fresh innovative designs.

The label is seen often on actors and celebrities and on the red carpets.

Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julian Moore, Eve,
Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Salma Hayak, Mandy Moore, Gwen Stefani have all worn this hot design team's designs.

The line has been featured in the major fashion magazines, Vogue, Harpers, Elle, In style, WWD.

The J. Mendel name is long established and world famous for its fur line, with retail stores in New York, Paris and Aspen and a boutique in Bergdorf Goodman in New York.

Bibhu received his masters degree in fashion design from FIT in New York and also has a masters degree in Economics from Utah State University.

He worked for Halston prior to joining J. Mendel as an Intern.

The 32 year old Mr. Mohapatra was born in the Indian state of Orissa.
